“If the traveler expects the highway to be safe and well  graded,  he might as well stay at home.” Charles Kuralt

For those of you too young to remember,  Mr. Kuralt appeared regularly on the CBS Evening News and anchored the CBS News broadcast Sunday Morning in the 1960’s. Charles Kuralt was born on September 10, 1934 in Wilmington, North Carolina.  Through his television series A LIFE ON THE ROAD, he brought the outside world of this vast country into the living rooms of  armchair travelers for twenty three years.
He was also penned :  ON THE ROAD WITH CHARLES KURALT,  NORTH CAROLINA IS MY HOME, AND DATELINE: AMERICA TO THE TOP OF THE WORLD.

Annie and I are following Kuralts adventures.

We had been together in South Florida for a short while when we decided to follow in the footsteps of Mr. Kuralt. We would travel and work while touring America sharing our experience. Everyone is welcome to ride along by following our web-page.

Since we didn’t know how we’d get along in close quarters, after an extensive search in November of 1999, we purchased our first motor home. A 1975 restored Dodge Executive 29 foot coach.The_day_before_going_full_time_1999.jpg

A top of the line coach in its day but, a dinosaur compared to today’s high powered designer series recreational vehicles.  Never-the-less, it was within our means and we called it home.

A year later we moved into a Holiday Rambler 5th wheel pulled by our Volvo HDT Semi.  A registered motor-home.Our_RIG_2009.jpg
